Tourism Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala has now claimed that utterances by Opposition coalition NASA leaders are negatively impacting the tourism industry.
Speaking on Tuesday during a press briefing, Balala noted that NASA's statements that there will be no repeat polls on October 17 as earlier announced by electoral agency IEBC are scaring away tourists and potential investors.
"So you mean if there is no election there will be war? Those are the things that are scaring our visitors and investors," he said.
"I'm a bit worried we may not achieve [growth]. Let us tone down so the damage can be minimised," he added.
The Supreme Court nullified President Uhuru Kenyatta's victory earlier in the month, setting stage for fresh elections.
NASA has since maintained that they could boycott the fresh polls should IEBC fail to consider a number of key demands they have laid down.
