Agriculture Cabinet secretary Willy Bett  has cautioned  millers against misleading Kenyans that the country would soon experience food shortage.

He warned that the Government will take stern action against traders who increase maize flour prices and yet maize prices have not gone up.

“Millers should stop causing unnecessary panic among Kenyans by misleading the country that there is food shortage. We have more than 10 million bags of maize which are enough to feed the country until the next harvesting season,” added the CS.

He, however, urged the Government to continue serving Kenyans and ignore the noises being made by the Opposition.

“I ask the Jubilee administration to continue initiating development projects that can improve the lives of the people despite criticism by the Opposition,” said Bett.

He further urged the Government to explore ways of improving tea, coffee and rice prices as one way of motivating farmers in the region.
