Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Willy Bett has urged millers to ensure they pay farmers their dues after delivering their produce.
He said it was sad that some milers were exploiting farmers hence they cannot get value for their money.
"We want to ensure that there is a good working relationship between millers and farmers," he said in Eldoret town on Saturday after meeting farmers who had supplied their maize to DOLA Company and haven't been paid.
"As government we will ensure that DOLA has paid farmers their dues with immediate. We want farmers to enjoy the fruits of their labour," he added.
He, however, revealed that National Cereals and Produce Board will open its doors next month for farmers to deliver their produce.
"We will be announcing an appropriate price for purchasing maize from farmers basing on the challenges farmers from the region faced,” noted Bett.
He called upon farmers not to sell their maize to brokers since the government will offer them a good price.
