Kikuyu MP Kimani Wa Ichungwa has called on the Transport CS Eng. Michael Kamau to ensure that all roads leading to Kikuyu area that have been abandoned for years are repaired, especially during the ongoing renovations of the roads in the area.
Speaking when he led CS Eng. Kamau in his Constituency to open the Northern By-Pass on Thursday, Ichungwa said that most of the area residents depend on the transport sector to earn a living, therefore good roads will be a plus to them.
The Kikuyu Member of Parliament added that the renovations will give a room for job opportunities to the area youth.
Ichungwa said that he will ensure that all roads in his Constituency are in good condition to enable the area residents to move easily, especially when transporting their goods to various market places.
“Good roads will ensure that our people reach their destinations without any delay. I will try my best to ensure that all roads are in good conditions,” promised Ichungwa.
He called on CS Eng. Kamau to give room for Matatu Sector in the area to have their own Saccos saying that he has received numerous claims that National Saccos do not advocate for the rights of grass-root matatu owners and operators and they have expressed a wish to form their own group.
He also called on the area residents to stand united and not to give a room to ill-intentioned leaders, whom he claimed had so personal hidden agenda.
