Riverwood filmmakers have been hailed for their endeavour to create local content and tell Kenyan stories in the Kenyan way to the world.
Mining Cabinet Secretary Dan Kazungu observed that Kenya was a land of many stories, which many are yet to be told.
"I hail the Riverwood Ensemble producers, led by their Secretary General Mwaniki Mageria, for their noble initiative," said the CS.
He spoke during the closing of the International Film Convention Kenya at Safari Park in Nairobi, Friday.
Sports CS Hassan Wario, also present, reiterated the Government's support for the creative economy.
"My ministry is committed to pushing a film policy bill before the next sitting of the Cabinet. This will go a long way in promoting the industry," Wario stated.
At the same event, Kenya Film Classification (KFC) boss Chris Foot and his Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) counterpart Ezekiel Mutua announced that they have buried the hatchet.
They said in order to succeed; all parties in the creative industry must join hands and work together.
"None of us can achieve anything alone; we all need each other to tap into the full potential of the film industry," Mutua noted.
