Public Service, Youth and Gender Affairs Cabinet Secretary Sicily Kariuki has accused the opposition of spreading propaganda about the Jubilee adminstration.
Speaking in Narok on Wednesday, Kariuki lauded President Uhuru Kenyatta and his administration for adequately funding the National Youth Service project, dismissing NASA's claims that the initiative has not benefited Kenyans.
“For your information, since we started the programme, more than 140,000 youths have been engaged and Sh5.5 billion paid to them,” she noted.
She further took a swipe on the grand coalition government's "Kazi Kwa Vijana" initiative, accusing a section of the opposition leaders of embezzling funds meant for the project.
“That programme only benefitted old men, while the young people who were working were walking home empty handed. They are unhappy with the programme and have now resorted to propaganda to mislead Kenyans,” she stated.
Kariuki called on the locals to reelect President Uhuru Kenyatta during the forthcoming general elections.
