Cabinet Secretary for health Cleopa Mailu has downplayed any possibilities of him resigning from his post after an internal audit report showing that the ministry has lost 5.2 billion shillings to graft.

Speaking on Friday,the C.S pledged to inform the nation on any new information that pops up regarding the scandal.

''By next week i will have received a report touching on the issue and will be more than willing to share it with the people,however currently resigning is not one of my considerations and i am still the head of this ministry,''Mailu said.

The CS is already under pressure to resign and give room for investigation with TNA nominated MP Johnstone Sakaja and opposition chief Raila Odinga being the first ones to call for his resignation.

On Friday, detectives from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission paid a surprise visit to the ministry offices in Afya House under the leadership of EACC Deputy Chief Executive Officer Michael Mubea.
