Rescue operations involving multi-government agencies have been intensified.
The toll, the highest in a single flood-related incident now brings to over 160 the number of people who have died countrywide as a result of floods since heavy rains started in March.
Rongai police boss Japheth Kioko on Thursday confirmed that at least 20 bodies had been recovered, with search and rescue operation ongoing.
Red Cross has confirmed that there still tens of people unaccounted for and 39 rescued. Those who were saved were taken to Bahati sub-county and Nakuru Level 5 Hospitals.
The mega dam is located inside the farm of prominent farmer Mansukul Patel in Solai. Among villages affected are those in the farmlands of Nyakinyua, Endao, and Arutani where hundreds of people were displaced.
Houses in the area were also swept in the incident at about 9 pm leaving at least 500 families and 2,500 people were affected.
