Energy Cabinet Secretary Alfred Keter warned that the dam might overflow since it is experiencing huge and worrying inflows apparently.

Keter said the dam will be filled with water by Friday this week.

He said seven forks dams which include Masinga, Kamburu, Gitaru, Kindaruma, and Kiambere reservoirs are full to capacity and will begin spilling their waters anytime.

"We expect Masinga dam to spill its waters between now and Friday since it will have attained full supply of water," Keter said.

Keter addressed the press in Nairobi on Tuesday.

He said residents living near the dam and in neighboring  Garrisa County should vacate before tragedy strikes.

“People in Garissa too should move to safer and higher grounds since they will be affected first as water moves downwards towards Garsen," Keter said.

Keter said the dam feeds four others downstream which are already full.
