Water Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa has asked members of the Luhya community to reject the National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate Raila Odinga on August 8 polls.
Wamalwa said the opposition leaders neglected Western Kenya region when they held positions in previous regimes.
"Let them show us the projects they initiated when they Raila was Prime Minister, Kalonzo Vice President and when Mudavadi and Wetang'ula were Cabinet Ministers," he said speaking in Tongaren, Bungoma County on Monday.
The CS accused NASA of peddling lies and fighting development projects started by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto in order to win sympathy from the vote-rich region.
" They are opposing development projects in the area just because they are initiated by the Jubilee administration. I am surprised that Wetang’ula can stand on a road like Musikoma-Buyofu and blatantly claim no work has been done, yet 9km are already tarmacked," he said as quoted by the Star.
Wamalwa urged residents to vote for Jubilee in large numbers to give the ruling coalition a resounding win against the Raila-led group.
“We want a peaceful election but as voters from western Kenya, you should turn up in large numbers and vote for Jubilee to win by a large margin which cannot be disputed by our opponents,” Wamalwa added.
