Saturday's breakfast meeting convened at the behest of Deputy President William Ruto and chaired by JAP Nairobi point-man Maina Kamanda allegedly to endorse Eugene Wamalwa as the JAP Nairobi gubernatorial candidate ended in disarray and uncertainty.
At the tension packed meeting, the MPs failed to agree on the main agenda of the day and exposed Kamanda's leadership deficiency.
In a chilly Nairobi, what was to be a routine endorsement of Eugene Ludovick Wamalwa as the JAP gubernatorial candidate was not just boycotted by Senators Mike Sonko, Danson Sakaja and MP Waweru all of whom are leading contenders for the JAP Nairobi ticket. It ended with Kamanda emerging from the meeting with nothing of a coonsensus to tell the waiting supporters.
Sources further contend that a majority of Jubilee MPs present gravitated towards supporting Bishop Margaret Wanjiru as the candidate and at one time demanded that Kamanda wires a call to State House to "pass their message".
Eventually, and despite generous offers of financial compensation, the MPs declined to endorse CS Wamalwa forcing him to either agree to be Bishop Wanjiru's running mate or seek 2017 opportunities elsewhere.
For this reason, Wamalwa will only be used by the Jubilee party to test waters but he will end up being disposed as was the case with Musalia Mudavadi in 2013.
