Wamalwa’s car is among 121 vehicles deregistered by the authorities.

NTSA and the Kenya Revenue Authority in a statement indicated that the vehicles’ registration was obtained fraudulently, or in a manner contrary to the provisions of the Traffic Act.

Wamalwa’s Range Rover Vogue had been registered as an Isuzu truck.

He bought the car from Grace Wairaki and transferred ownership to his name.

The Vogue has a Sh6.59 million debt owed to the Kenya Revenue Authority.

“The National Transport and Safety Authority has reasonable grounds to believe that the motor vehicle registration numbers listed below have been obtained in error, fraudulently or in a manner contrary to the provisions of the Traffic Act,” read part of the statement.

“Pursuant to the Public Notice published on 10th June 2016, the Authority hereby invokes section 6 (10) and Section 6 (11) of the Traffic Act, Cap 403 Laws of Kenya, and withdraws the registration numbers with effect from the date of this notice,” added the statement.
