The global launch of the Cubot Note S was done in Kenya in honour of Kenyan artists who designed the phone’s cover.

He said the use of the African inspired Kenyan designs has increased the phone’s appeal both locally and globally.

Kilimall, the leading online retailer, has been appointed the exclusive distributor of the brand in Kenya and the East African region.

“Our market research for Africa pointed to a very high appreciation of the Cubot brand in Kenya,” said Kilimall marketing director Larry Liu.

Liu said many Kenyans are looking for high quality and affordable smartphones which, he noted, were in short supply in the local market.

He said the affordable cost of the phone, which retails at Sh8,888, has been made possible through Cubot’s strategic partnership with Kilimall.

“We have eliminated all channel costs and are giving all the benefits to the customer,” he said.

The 5.5-inch screen Cubot Note Series comes with ultra-high spec features on the Android platform with a longer battery life of two days for the average user. It also comes with dual SIM features, enabling users to freely tailor their phone use to their preferences. Its dual-SIM works with both 2G & 3G networks.

“Some may take advantage of this to separate work/business and pleasure/family and friends or to get the best deals of two different cellular networks” he said.

The Cubot Note S comes in various colours including Matte Black, Champagne Gold & Pearl White and pink. It has a rear camera of 8MP and a front camera of 5MP.
