Baringo county senator Gideon Moi has said prolonged politics has affected the economy of the country.
According to Moi, October 26 repeat presidential election should take place for the country to move on.
"The presidential elections must be held on October 26 as announced by IEBC," said the KANU party leader.
The senator said the country has to be united despite the ongoing heated politics.
He said the current political tension should not subdivide the country and politicians should embrace peace as the country heads to elections.
Moi supports Jubilee's president Kenyatta for re-election.
Currently, there is heated politics between Opposition NASA and the ruling Jubilee party.
NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga has demanded that IEBC should be cleaned before repeat of polls.
