0n March 30, a conference led by Deputy President William Ruto saw education stakeholders agree on the proposed change of 8.4.4 curriculum.
The change in the Kenyan education system has received support, especially from academicians and practitioners.
Professor Kibiwott Kurgat, the dean Faculty of Information Science and Technology at Kisii University, said the proposed new curriculum has come at an important time when the education is facing a lot of challenges.
"The 8.4.4 system had a huge learning programme which was overloading to students," said Kurgat.
He added that over the years, there has been an advancement in technology. Therefore, there was a need for the change to conform to the changing times.
"Education system is dynamic because we have to cope with developments in technology," he said.
