Kiamaina Chief Peter Kariuki has vowed to crack down on all cyber cafés allowing teenagers to access pornographic content.
Kariuki says that most teens have flooded cafés to watch and down load pornographic materials.
“Cybers in Kiamaina have become dens where teens go to watch pornographic material,” said Kariuki.
Speaking today at Kiamaina Shopping Centre in Bahati Ward during a public meeting, Kariuki said that he would spare no effort in closing such cafés.
“We will not allow our youth to be polluted with foreign pornographic materials. I will close all cybers allowing children to watch sex videos,” said Kariuki.
The chief's warning comes in the wake of widespread cry from parents that their teens have been flooding cybers to watch pornographic videos.
Kariuki said that the presence of pornography in the cafés is a threat to the society.
“We can’t allow criminals to pose threat to our social morals by allowing teens to watch sex videos,” said Kariuki.
The administrator said that most teens have been practicing what they have been watching.
“Incidences of rape are alarming in Kiamaina slums due to pornography,” said Kariuki.
The chief urged the government to de-register all entities allowing the entry of pornography in the country.
Kariuki however urged the teens to use the cafés for research that would help them academically.
