Addressing journalists in Mlolongo town on Wednesday, Nancy Munene, who has invested in hospitality industry in Nairobi and most major towns within Machakos County, said music piracy was inhuman.

She said those engaged in music industry should be empowered by giving them opportunities to rip from their sweat and fully enjoy fruits of their hard work and persistence in the competitive industry.

According to Munene, the Kenyan artists who she said most were under established youths undergo lots of challenges either to release their albums, videos or tracks.

“It is an expensive and challenging venture, most of those who invest in the industry risk their capital and utilize lots of their time to come up with productions only for some inhuman individuals to pirate their releases at clicks of their mouses,” said Munene.

She called on the government, through the Copy Rights Society of Kenya to tighten their rules and adjust crack downs on culprits of music piracy.

Munene advised that the county hires more staff to support the crack down that she proposed should be conducted on daily basis and culprits be ruthlessly dealt with by the courts to put a stop to the inhuman act.
