Cyber cafe and video games entertainment spots operators in Nakuru have been warned against availing for access pornographic materials to children who flock their joints.
Mawanga Teachers Business Owners Association (MATEBOA) chairman James Maina, during a meeting with entertainment spots operators in the area who are members of the association, said that ethics and the law ought to be adhered to in providing services to young children.
Maina who spoke during a meeting held the Deliverance Church social hall yesterday warned the traders that the association would take disciplinary action as well as report to law enforcers any members who provide pornographic materials to children.
He observed that some cyber cafe and other entertainment joints operators across the country were known for providing pornographic materials to underage children a vice that is against the law and ethical standards in business.
Maina said: "Let me warn our members here that the law is against pornography while ethics in business should be observed. Some of you may or do provide illicit materials to children who come for services at your places but be warned that we will not tolerate such behaviours.”
He added, “We want to grow our association and such incidences will only but spoil our image.”
Maina has also warned alcohol sellers who are members of the association against selling alcohol to people under the age of 18 as well also selling unlicensed alcohol brands.
