Mr Lugusa confirmed that all the officers who will take part in the exercise have been trained on the procedures to be followed during the process.

He said all the equipment that will be used has been deployed to the respective centres across the region.

“We have put all necessary arrangements to ensure the exercise proceeds smoothly without any hiccups,” he said.

Speaking to the press in Kisumu on Friday after meeting top security personnel in the region, Lugusa said that different from past years, potential recruits will be required to complete application form before going through other vetting processes.

He advised the recruits to be at their respective centers by 8 am to avoid being coked out.

“This is an appeal to those who wish to apply to be police officers, please be at the recruiting centers early enough to avoid being locked out,” he said.

Lugusa further announced that only duly accredited observers will be allowed into the recruitment centers.

He said the move is aimed at ensuring utmost fairness and transparency in the whole process as required by law.

“Be it civil society group or religious leaders who are interested in overseeing the recruitment drive, make sure you have the accreditation,” he said.
