While speaking on a local TV station, the administrator admitted that terrorism in the region is also as a result of the refugee camps.

According to Ismail Kathiye ,a resident of Hagadera just near the camp, the weapons usually find their way in at night.

However, in case of tight security, the smugglers use other options including taxis, and at times involve the youth who hide the products in within firewood before ferrying it aboard their donkey drawn carts.

Some of the guns are suspected to find their way into other parts of the country where they are used for  criminal activities.

This comes at a time when the government and the international community are working on ensuring a safe return of the  refugees back home through a repatriation process.

Most of the refugees are however against the idea and would prefer remaining in Kenya.
