UNHCR has engaged the Danish Refugee Council to undertake various educational programs on App development in Daadab camps.
According to UNHCR, the first batch of the programme will involve 90 refugees from Daadab who will receive training on Android programming, with the entire course comprising of theory and practical aspects of Android technology.
Before the end of the course, the refugee students will then be required to create real-life applications which can be used for future projects.
The course has already begun and will run for the next four months.
The curriculum will comprise of understanding and appreciating the mobile technology, how to develop working apps for Android smart phone devices, understanding developments and business opportunities available for mobile platforms and creating simple mobile applications based on the Android programming language.
