Tana River Governor Dhadho Godhana clashed with his predecessor Hussein Dado in a meeting officiated by the CS for devolution Eugene Wamalwa on Monday.
The Governor protested against the presence of his predecessor, who is now serving as the Devolution Chief Administrative Secretary, at the meeting that was conveyed to distribute the relief foods to the floods - displaced victims.
“Let me be straightforward here, I wish Dado was not here. He is campaigning against me. He is messing me up, that is why I don’t want him here,” said the governor.
He accused the former county boss of using the emergency relief food from the national government to undermine his leadership by inciting locals against him and vilifying his concerted efforts of initiating mega development projects in the county.
But in a quick rejoinder, Mr Dado laughed off the accusations levelled against him by the Governor, maintaining that the tribulations ravaging the residents necessitated his intervention.
On his part, the CS for devolution Eugene Wamalwa has reiterated the need for collaboration among the local leaders in a view to hasten the service delivery to the people.
