Residents of Nairobi's Dagoretti North have asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to make a visit to the area. This is after the President last Sunday cancelled a planned tour to Dagoretti.
According to MP aspirant Carnicious Meso, residents last Sunday prepared to receive Mr Kenyatta but were disappointed at the president's fail;ure to show up.
"We are the true residents of Dagoretti North. There are others who purport to be representatives of the community living here, but are only lying," said Meso on Tuesday.
He said that members of the Luhya community who are in the Jubilee Party want to feel part of the party.
Meso added that it would be unfair for the party to give the ticket to Senator Beatrice Elachi (nominated), whom he accused of not originating from Western and therefore "cannot represent the people of Dagoreti North and Kawangware fairly".
"We want the President to come and assure us that the Jubilee ticket will not be dished out to Elachi just because of her position," he added.
The constituency is currently led by MP Simba Arati.
