Nyamage area chief, Sarah Nyamigenga, appealed to the electricity provider to take action quickly before it causes danger to the residents.

“The wire may do a lot of harm to those staying around the place. It is very unfortunate that such a danger has never been spotted by the company,” she said.

Fredrick Ogweno, university student, said that wetness early in the morning has always transferred electric currents all-round the fences. He recounted how he got electrocuted saying it is a risk to residents.

“We are appealing to Kenya Power to cut down the tree which has been there for a year,” he said.

On Wednesday, a minor aged nine narrowly escaped death after she was electrocuted while playing with weeds close to the electrified tree.
