The traders lead but Pius Orina urged county government to construct the market so that traders can get better and enough space to conduct their business.

“In this market we go through many challenges since some of us have makeshift stalls once it rains the market becomes muddy hence no business can continue,” said Pius Orina.

They also challenged county government to use the levies they collect from the market every Monday and Thursday to build them stalls.

“We pay the tax but we need to ask what is the work of that tax because we are not benefiting," sais Jane Monari a trader.

"If Governor Ongwae needs to change the environment for traders let him construct us the market and put stalls,” she added.

It is alleged that governor Ongwae has been giving false promises of constructing the market but nothing has done.
