Deputy president William Ruto was forced to change route and cancel a rally in Bungoma town, after youths turned violent and barricaded Bungoma bus stage.
They chanted anti-Jubilee slogans, pro-National Super Alliance (Nasa) and ODM slogans, saying Jubilee had no chance in Bungoma and the entire Western Kenya region.
"We are in Cord, Nasa and ODM. We do not recognise Jubilee in Bungoma. Western Kenya is Cord stronghold and we do not want to see anything like Jubilee here,'' said the youth, as they chased away buses and vehicles with Jubilee delegates, Monday.
They also destroyed Jubilee campaign materials and attempted to burn a Jubilee billboard, before the police intervened and put off the fire.
They also teared Jubilee-branded t-shirts and harassed those who had anything symbolising Jubilee, forcing them to scamper for safety.
Ruto who was on his voter registration campaign visit, was forced to turn away at the main Mumias road, going through Mateka - Siritanyi and then Kanduyi.
He addressed a rally at Kanduyi market, and accused the Opposition of playing politics with lives of Kenyans.
Cord leader Raila Odinga is scheduled to tour the region at the end of the week.
