Ndii had shared an article by Global News which claimed that Moi had passed on while receiving treatment in Israel where he was admitted last Sunday.

Ndii, however, pulled down the tweet and apologised to his followers after realising the article was not factual.

“Fake news apparently. Cruel,” wrote Ndii after pulling down the tweet.

The NASA strategist acknowledged his mistake saying he had learned his lesson, adding that he had underestimated how cruel people can be.

A statement released by Moi’s press secretary Lee Njiru on Wednesday stated that the former President is responding well to treatment and is expected to return to the country soon.

“The former president is in high spirits, hearty and expected home soon. So far he is steady, robust and is responding very well to treatment,” said Njiru.

Moi, who was accompanied by his son Gideon Moi and his physician Dr David Silverstein traveled to Tel Aviv, Israel for a check-up on his knee.
