Addressing the press on Monday over the arrest, Mwende said after police picked her husband, the head of Diani police station told her they had to do a search in the hotel room they were staying. "They told me to take out the clothes which were in the suitcase and I said no. I told them you are the ones searching, you do that," Mwende said. She further noted that she refused to help police check her clothes since she was not ready to show them her inner wears in the name of searching for whatever they were looking for.Ndii's wife said she asked the police if they wanted to see her panties, they should check them themselves. "I had unpacked my suitcase so they could see those are ladies clothes. My underwears were on top so there is no way I was going to show my underwears six, seven in the room. So if you want to do that you check," she said. After the search, Mwende noted that they found nothing. Ndii was released on Monday evening on police bond.
