[Photo|Courtesy]Reports indicate that police have found a police vehicle that had been stolen by suspected Al-Shabaab militants in Garissa County.The attackers set Ijara police station on fire in an early Saturday morning attack.Reports said that at round 1 am, a group of about 70 Al-Shabaab gunmen attacked Ijara police station, Ijara AP camp and entire township. They damaged Ijara report office, armoury, office of the OCS, water tank, canteen and a church, within the station. They later disappeared with the station Land cruiser registration number GKA. 225Y.The AP camp was left intact as they went directly to Ijara town and broke into one shop/store and stole food items, drinks and cash.They also vandalised Safaricom communication boosters, and later reportedly left the area at around 2 am.No casualty has been reported after police on duty engaged the attackers in a shootout. They later disappeared to Boni Forest.Reports said police launched manhunt for the attackers in the forest both on ground and in the air, and spotted the abandoned vehicle.
