The governors’ induction entered its second day today with matters to do with revenue collection top of the agenda.
The governors discussed on the budgeting process for their counties and had the chance to have a presentation from the chair of the revenue allocation commission.
The governors are expected to handle leadership and integrity on Saturday, with EACC CEO Halakhe Waqo set to lead the session.
The session is expected to mainly centre on the legal framework, with the EACC expected to give a report of their work in the last four years.
Speaking to KTN today, Friday, Waqo said they have done their work on investigating and taking the matters through the prosecution office to the court.
He challenged the courts to be ‘more clinical’ and act on the pieces of evidence presented before them.
“We will give our experience for the last four years, devolved centres have been in existence, and I will be sharing on the cases that we are handling,” he said.
He added: “The powers we have is to investigate and take the matters to court, but it is the work of the courts to prosecute.
The forum kicked off on Thursday, with President Kenyatta being present during the official opening.
