Charity Wangari Mwangi, a student from Daystar University was charged alongside John Kuiyaki before Milimani Senior Principal Magistrate, Martha Mutuku, for fraudulently obtaining six million shillings from a businesses woman, but they denied the charges.

The two were accused that on September 20, and December 19, jointly with others who were not before the court intended to defraud, and obtained 6.6 million shillings from Joyce Nyaguthi Kibe by falsely pretending that the money was to finance an order to supply herbicides to Siani Roses Flower Farm in Kitengela, a fact they knew to be untrue.

They pleaded not guilty and asked for lenient bail terms after the defense told the court that the accused, Charity Wangari Mwangi, is a student at a local university and was not a flight risk.

The case will be mentioned on January 26, 2017 and heard on March 16.

They were released on a bond of one million shillings or cash bail of 200,000 shillings.
