After students at Daystar University staged a boycott last week over poor facilities and fee incriments, new reports have emerged of ethnic profiling in the institution.
According to student leaders at the university, Parents Association Chair, Dorothy N'gethe has been involved the ethnic profiling of students and liasing with the institutions Vice Chancellor to target student leaders.
Daystar Valley Road President Aloys Otieno and his Athi River counterpart Karwitha Karimi held a briefing to condemn the administration for the ethnic profiling.
"Dorothy Ng'ethe, the Daystar Univesity Parents Association Chairpreson, called me asking to remember my name is Karwitha and my fellow President's name is Otieno, and I should remember that 'his people' are causing the government a lot of harm and a lot of disservice," Karimi stated.
Karimi added that she was told to write an email to the VC calling off the boycott and that if she failed to do so she would 'be with accordingly'.
Vice Chancellor Timothy Wachira claims the students have refused to dialogue and has called upon anti-riot police to deter the protests.
Videos and images have been circulating social media and the students have accused the police of using excessive force.
