Daystar University council has approved a sabbatical leave for Vice Chancellor Prof. Timothy Wachira.

According to a statement signed by the Chairman of the Daystar University council, Prof George Krhoda dated 18 December 2018, Prof James Kombo will be the acting Vice Chancellor with immediate effect.

The University Senate has also directed an independent investigation into the allegations brought against Prof Wachira by the student organization.

"An independent investigation is to be conducted on the allegations raised by the student government, and a report to be handed in no later than February 15, 2018," the statement said.

This has been occasioned by student unrest and boycott of classes and school activities over waht was termed as poor management.

Students had been complaining of poor leadership, poor meals and poor facilities.

Daystar University was closed indefinitely on December 8 after students unrest, just 11days from its reopening. The Senate is set to provide a revised University calendar effective from January 2018.
