Daystar University will roll out an excellent and highly attractive distance e-learning virtual Daystar Campus within the next one year, says the institution’s Vice Chancellor Dr Timothy Wachira.
Wachira said the program is aimed at enhancing higher education access in Africa by eliminating costs of academic related mobility and accommodation without compromising on quality of education.
He spoke at the University’s Athi River town campus during its 38th graduation ceremony on Saturday where 900 graduands were conferred with postgraduate, undergraduate and diplomas.
The university also graduated its first cohort of the PHD in Clinical Psychology, eight graduands were awarded with PHD in the discipline.
The ceremony was graced by the newly installed Daystar University’s Chancellor Prof Mary Murimi.
Murimi said Daystar graduates are impacting the world because they have learnt the act of integrating faith and learning.
She said the exams which the university’s students will be taking going forward are those they cannot afford to fail.
“The examinations are set by you, taken by you and graded by you. You are the only ones who can determine whether you will be an A, B or C professional, you are the one to impress or disappoint yourself,” said Prof Murimi.
Ambassador of South Sudan to Kenya Amb Ajongo Chol and Embu County Senator Lenny Kivuti attended the graduation.
