Mombasa based artiste Dazlah Kiduche has been banned from performing at one of the biggest event in the coastal city, following the release of his new video, Uchoyo.
Kiduche was set to perform during Mombasa Kid’s Talent Search Festival which will be held on August 13.
However, the event's organising committee termed Kiduche's new video featuring Sis P as immoral, adding that he would not be a good fit for the event which is aimed at mentoring kids.
“We felt it won’t be appropriate to have him as one of the performers and a mentor in the kids workshop,” read part of the statement.
The organisers said they do not hold any personal grudge against the musician, but are simply protecting the image of the event, as well as the values of the kids and parents.
They further promised to work with him during the December edition.
Kiduche's producer took to social media to express his feelings on the matter, showing no regrets.
Khalid said the music industry has changed, adding that every artist has his or her own way of doing music, based on their targets.
“Wanasema ati ukivaa daring hautapata show za cooperate. Huwo ni ujinga na ukosefu wa elimu. Mnasahau kampuni ya condom, za sabuni, mafuta ya kujipaka, cosmetics zote ni cooperate. Hizi adverts zikifanywa na hawa brand ambassadors huwa wamevaa suti au lingerie?” read Khalid's post.
