A Nakuru court has ordered area DCI offices to release a lorry belonging to police impostor Joshua Waiganjo.

Waiganjo was charged with stealing the lorry but he was acquitted.

Chief magistrate Benard Mararo ordered the DCIO to return the vehicle to Waiganjo unless there is a pending case.

“The court has considered the submissions by the state and Waiganjo, and has concluded the plaintiff has proved his case and order that motor vehicle Isuzu 957 be released to Joshua Waiganjo unless there is a pending claim of the said vehicle or unless lawfully held”, he said.

According to Waiganjo, the vehicle belonged to him and police arrested him in a witch hunt.

He moved to court on July 7 and urged Mararo to order the DCI to release the vehicle to him, having been acquitted.

Waiganjo also wants the court to order the Kenya Revenue Authority to give him a duplicate logbook of the vehicle.
