The livestock and agricultural sector will be the main beneficiary of the project which will be funded by the national government

Speaking during a courtesy call at the office of the deputy Governor Joseph Ruto on Tuesday, Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries Andrew Tuimur announced plans that will be a major boost to all farmers across most counties.

“We have already visited several agricultural institutions within the county including Dairy Training Institute in Naivasha, Livestock Recording Center and Veterinary Laboratories among others and we are encouraged by the good work done to promote agriculture in the country,” Tuimur said.

He also hailed the county government’s work in uplifting the standards of living of most farmers and cited DTI as a crucial institution that has been changing lives and called on more efforts to utilize the opportunity to train and impart more skills on farmers in the region.

Deputy governor Ruto welcomed the partnership terming it as crucial in changing livelihoods of the people and fulfilling the agenda of the campaign manifestos.

“We are delighted to have this partnership that will continually benefit our people. We have also worked in the past including in the project that addressed Anthrax outbreak last year. We are looking forward to working in more partnerships to reach every citizen through various sectors,” Ruto said.
