[Photo:JohnBTwitter]The death toll from Sachangwan accident has risen from 16 to 17.The tragic accident occurred on Tuesday, December 12, along the Eldoret-Nakuru highway after a truck driver heading to Nakuru lost control of his truck and hit into several oncoming vehicles while allegedly being pursued by (NTSA) officials.More than 64 survivors were taken to Nakuru Level Five and Molo sub-county hospitals where they are currently receiving treatment. Following the incident, the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has proposed the division of the Nakuru-Eldoret Highway, along the Salgaa black spot, in a bid to tame the regular recurrence of accidents in the region.President Uhuru Kenyatta who spoke on Tuesday urged motorists to be cautious especially this festive season. He also asked police and other relevant authorities to take stiff action against those who will break the traffic laws.
