The death toll from Tuesday night accident at Mwariki C estate along Elementaita-Nakuru road has risen to 8.
This is after one more patient died at the Nakuru Level Five hospital.
PGH superintendent Dr. Joseph Mburu said twenty one people were involved in the accident which occurred at 7.30am as they returned from a burial in Kiptangwany.
Mburu they received five bodies while two more were taken to Nakuru county government mortuary.
The hospital boss added that four patients were treated and discharged while eight are still receiving treatment.
The matatu rolled several times after it burst a tyre.
At Elementaita police station where the matatu was towed, residents milled around to view the wreckage.
Daniel Maina who was among the first to assist victims at the Nakuru Level Five hospital said that among patients received in the hospital were three children.
