The Debate on Kenya's nominees to the East Africa Legislative Assembly failed to kick off on Tuesday due to lack of quorum.

This is the second time the debate was pushed forward.

During the scheduled debate time, Awendo MP Jared K’Opiyo rose notified  Speaker Justin Muturi that there was no quorum to debate the report of the Joint Parliamentary Select Committee on the Election of Members.

The debate is expected to commence on Wednesday.

The move could mean that Kenya may lack representation at the Assembly whose settings are set to commence on Monday should they have passed the nominees by today.

Early this month, there was a row between Jubilee and NASA over the nominee's selection with the opposition being accused of nepotism in the selection of its members.
