The leaders of Kisii have been urged to decamp to Jubilee to bring development to the people of Kisii.
This was the message of Prof Willie Onkoba who said there is nothing to reap from the opposition and asked the leaders of Kisii to swallow their pride and work with the government so that they can bring development to Gusii land citing that at the end of their tenure what matters is not party loyalty but development and improvement of people’s welfare.
He urged the leaders to follow Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua legacy whose county has developed owing it to links with the government despite being an opposition stronghold.
He added that in Kenya’s history of politics there is no single election a seating president has ever been voted out of office something he said may not be different in the case of Uhuru.
“Our leaders should concentrate on the welfare of the people through developments and not party loyalty that yields no fruits. It's simple prediction, Jubilee might be in power for the next 10 to 15 years and what the leaders should ask themselves is where will we be when it comes to sharing the national cake?” he said.
He urged the leaders to work close with the government to ensure projects go through.
“We should be wise. We will not reap anything fruitful by being loyal to a party that does not give you anything. Work close with the government and strive to reap from it,” said Onkoba.
