Residents of Ogaga village in Bondo, Siaya County are in shock after a decomposing body of a 35-year-old man was found lying in a bush Thursday evening.
The deceased, identified as, Joshua Omondi worked as a mason in Bondo town.
He is said to have been discovered by a herdsman who had gone to feed his animals at a farm near that bush.
According to the chairman of Bondo sub-county Community Policing Committee Juma Abuko, the herdsman bumped onto the body which had already started to decompose before he raised an alarm which attracted members of the public to the scene.
He says that they then reported the matter to the provincial administration and the police who came and removed the body to Bondo sub-county hospital mortuary to await post-mortem.
Abuko said that the man is suspected to have died due to excessive drinking since a number of used bottles of illicit liquor were found beside his body.
