2017 Kenya Premier League (KPL) champions Gor Mahia defender Wellington Ochieng has thanked the club’s fans for making 2017 a fruitful and successful year for the team.
Gor Mahia won a record 16th KPL title, and the defender feels that the feat was achieved courtesy of the club’s loyal fans.
Through his face book page, the defender who was integral to Gor Mahia’s campaign in 2017 urged fans to remain loyal and supportive in 2018.
“2017 has been absolutely unbelievable. I just want to take a moment to thank each and every one of you for contributing to our achievements. Your encouragement, constructive criticism, and loyalty have propelled us to these heights. May we do this again in the coming year. God bless,” the defender posted on face book on Saturday.
Some of the fans who reacted to the post wished him all the best next year.
“Congratulations for the fruitful career. Wish u all the best next year,” posted face book user by the name Dave Lastborn.
Wellington Ochieng was also in the Kenya National Soccer Team Harambee Stars squad that won the 2017 Council for East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) Senior Challenge Cup hosted by Kenya.
It was the 7th overall CECAFA title for Stars.
