Intrigues over constitutional amendment are likely to be reignited on Friday even as DP William Ruto takes 2022 campaigns to Raila Odinga's Nyanza backyard.
For a couple of weeks now, the two protagonists have differed sharply over proposed referendum which is being championed by Raila.
On Friday, Ruto will traverse the larger Gusii region where he is expected to meet leaders from both Nyamira and Kisii Counties.
"I am relaxing with locals waiting for Deputy President William Ruto tomorrow. He will be touring South Mugirango to initiate several development projects.
"The issue of constitutional amendment some of us have already made our stand. We can't allow it to happen," said Sylvanus Osoro, area MP who was apparently elected on NASA ticket.
But before the South Mugirango tour, Ruto will pitch tent in the outskirts of Kisii Town at Nyabururu where he will be hosted by Richard Onyonka, a proponent of referendum.
For decades now, Raila Odinga has been the chief beneficiary of over 800, 000 votes from both counties, a scenario which Ruto is keen to change.
