Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi has dismissed allegations that he is unmarried insisting that his family affairs had nothing to do with leadership.
On Monday, a section of angry locals compelled the Deputy County boss to hastily leave his backyard with a section of them claiming he was unmarried.
And in a quick rejoinder during an inspection of Kisii stadium, Maangi dismissed the residents as ‘misplaced’ and challenged them to engage in positive politics.
“I don’t see the reason why someone’s marital status should concern people when it comes to leadership. Their comments about me were uncalled for and it’s time we practice constructive politics,” he said.
“Equally, no one can prevent me from visiting my home turf on allegations that I am not their kin. This is Kenya and people should learn to respect other people’s rights,” he said while targeting a section of residents who had dared him to visit Bomachoge-Chache.
Maangi is expected to deputise area Senator Chris Obure after unceremoniously falling out with the current Governor James Ongwae.
