Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has managed to conquer Holy city of Jerusalem following President Donald Trump's decision to recognize it as the capital city.
For years now, the city has been disputed with Palestine claiming the eastern part of the city, a move which resulted to Israeli's decision to use Tel Aviv as the capital.
"This is the historic day . Jerusalem has been capital of Israel for nearly 70 years. It has been the focus of our hopes , our dreams and prayers," he wrote on his Twitter.
At his Nairobi trip during the inauguration of President Uhuru Kenyatta, Netantahu however failed to show up in Kasarani over insecurity fears.
But his main focus was centrally placed at increasing cooperation between Africa and the Jewish nation that has been at loggerheads with Arab countries.
"I am excited to meet now in Kenya with many leaders and ambassadors from across Africa. Israel is quite accepted and respected."
In his speech, Trump insisted Israel is a sovereign nation and that it had a right to determine its capital.
"It is time officially to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel," he said, urging calm.
With many nations hesitating to congratulate Uhuru Kenyatta, Netanyahu was the first powerful leader to walk on the tight rope.
