Opposition leader Raila Odinga insists he is ready to have dialogue with President Uhuru Kenyatta to quell escalating political animosity in the country.

But Odinga, who has since declared that he will be sworn-in on December 12th, says the dialogue should only revolve around electoral justice.

“I have said repeatedly that I am ready for discussions with Uhuru Kenyatta if these concern the issue of electoral justice,” he said.

At his inauguration on Tuesday, Uhuru said he was ready to reach out to opposition for the sake of ‘unity and stability’ of the country.

However, a defiant Odinga says Uhuru’s illegitimacy would only be solved if he agrees to discuss reforms within the electoral body, IEBC.

“No other dialogue is possible until that fundamental issue of illegitimacy of the president is solved,” added Odinga.

Although Uhuru was sworn as president, his legitimacy remains a huge doubt given millions of Kenyans did not take part in repeat polls which were boycotted by the opposition.
