Isaac Rutto says his decision to support opposition outfit NASA was guided by its commitment to protect devolved governance should they take over.
Rutto further lauds former Prime Minister Raila Odinga for standing in solidarity with pioneers’ governors when they were struggling to streamline the new system of governance.
In his latest jibe on Jubilee government, the Bomet Governor and CCM party leader accused President Uhuru Kenyatta of undermining devolution.
“I said I will support someone who has shown commitment towards defending devolved governance. NASA leaders have been fighting along Governors since 2013 and they mean good to this nation,” he said.
Rutto further said: “Jubilee failed to protect devolution by putting unnecessary blockades such as Ministry of devolution. They should be kicked out.”
With only four months to elections, Rutto has apparently joined NASA leaders in Kilifi for a bonding session in which they are set to settle on a flag bearer.
Moses Wetangula, Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi and Raila Odinga are in pursuit of the NASA ticket.
