A resilient President Uhuru Kenyatta has defied all the obstacles and convened a meeting at State House in Nakuru at which several leaders from Gusii community are in attendance.
Following the decision of the Supreme Court to nullify his victory, a highly charged Uhuru had waged war on Supreme Court President, Chief Justice David Maraga, who hails from Gusii region.
And in solidarity with David Maraga, thousands of Kisii and Nyamira residents thronged into streets accusing Uhuru of witch-hunt for a whole week.
But a remorseful president, who denied collectively demeaning Gusii people, is set to meet hundreds of leaders mainly from opposition who have since joined his Jubilee part.
The move is seen as the first step to neutralize Raila Odinga’s influence, who had capitalized on Maraga’s woes to hit on Jubilee administration in his recent tour.
Among those who were seen in Nakuru include PDP leader Omingo Magara. The party had a brief stay in NASA and managed to scoop a number of MPs and MCAs.
In August, Uhuru beat Odinga in Nyamira County, a region perceived to be an opposition stronghold apart from significantly improving in Kisii County.
