A highly charged President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday vowed to continue questioning the suitability of Chief Justice David Maraga and a team of judges who nullified his victory.
A majority Supreme Court judges voted in favour of Raila Odinga’s petition, a ruling that would lead for yet another battle between the two political protagonists.
Insisting that he had no issues with Gusii people, Uhuru, who was hosting hundreds of leaders from the region, said he did not agree with the outcome of the court thus his bitterness.
“I have no problems with the Kisii people and that is a fact. I only have problems with the old man and his colleagues who rigged me victory,” he said.
Uhuru added:” it is my right to protest with the outcome of a case that I strongly differ with. They threw us to unprecedented situation and I am very sad.”
Two weeks ago, several protestors thronged in the streets of Kisii and Nyamira towns in defense of Maraga, a hails from the Abagusii community.
Separately, Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu has filed a petition at the JSC, seeking answers on suitability of Maraga that could even lead to removal of the second C.J under the new constitution.
